MY WHY

I am Veronica Lowe, running for a seat on the Frederick County Public School Board of Education.

You ask, why I am running for a seat on the FCPS Board of Education.

• I am running because I understand that the children are our future, and we need to give them a world-class education, so they can lead the way.

• I am running because I am passionate about making sure that all children have access to an education that will prepare them to be successful adults.

• I am running because I see a need. Because I believe in service, I want to share my time, talents, skills, and experience to serve this community, to help make a difference. 

You ask, why should you vote for me?

• I am the candidate, and because I have worked for FCPS, I have less of a learning curve. I know the workings of the school systems, budget, redistricting, contract negotiation, strategic planning, and setting policy.

• I am the candidate who is resourceful and who already has a relationship with the county executive, county council members, the mayor, several alderman’s, and numerous community partners that will garner advocacy for needed funding, 

• I am a candidate who has strong leadership skills, and I believe in being firm, fair, and consistent.

• I am the candidate who will listen to all sides before making a decision.

• I am the candidate who is a leader in the community and will bring a fresh perspective to our school board.

• I am a candidate who is committed to academic excellence and community engagement.

I believe, that if we focus on making the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future a reality, our children will be prepared for success in the global society.

I am Veronica Lowe, and I ask for your vote of confidence, in electing me to the FCPS Board of Education, so that I can work with all teachers and staff to SUPPORT every child every day, to create INCLUSIVE environments, strengthen PARTNERSHIPS, and empower PARENTAL ENGAGEMENT.
